Yes, we’re back! In fact, I’ve actually played way ahead of this point, but I want to have the updates in reserve in case of a term-time slowdown. (I expect there will be one.) I hope you enjoy!

Last time: Stacey Cooper moved to Willow Creek, met Melvin Krause, and very slowly convinced him to be her boyfriend. She got a job in Entertainment and has been trying to make friends but not going so well. Let us resume.

Yes please! Even though this phone call did wake Stacey up from her nap.

fml. Why can’t she just use the broken toilet? This is extortion, this is!

(Spoiler alert: I paid the 182 Simoleons to replace the toilet. Stacey was busting, ok?!)

After a brisk shower Stacey had a whim to hip-bump someone. So she did. AND NOW SHE HAS A SECOND FRIEND!

Cute. “Hey baby, how was your day? You know, the day we finally kissed, and went steady, and WooHooed? How was it?”

btw, BRO-derick is still here, but he’s not part of the conversation because he’d rather play Sims on Stacey and Melvin’s computer. Perfect guest.

Apparently Tabitha wanted to take a photo to commemmorate the moment that she and Stacey became friends.

She then became a bit of a third wheel.

Not for long though, because Stacey then ran off to chat to her friend the gigantic teddy bear. ???

Fast-forwarding to that night… finally, Stacey and Melvin can share a bed! No more sleeping in shifts, hooray!

Grouchy breakfast-making.

Apparently Sims can eat while standing, who knew? Stacey is doing this because she really wanted to talk to Melvin right the fuck now even though he is busy cooking his own breakfast.

She rolled a whim to buy another toy. I obliged. Somehow she hit her head on it.

Liberty Lee turned up on our doorstep… possibly a little overdressed.

Amira Shea also arrives, having actually been invited.

Stacey was finally able to befriend Liberty Lee, as well! That makes three friends!

The visitors left and our lovebirds were left alone. I don’t know what Melvin is going on about here. A tracking beacon? idk

Who knew that a Popularity Sim and a Fortune Sim could fall in love? So beautiful!

I mean, you were literally just here, but OK.

Stacey had to go to work, but these two become great friends.

Lucky Melvin is nothing short of a goddamn everyday hero.

Well that’s great, considering that the stove costs three times that to replace. What a relief that Melvin was loaded when he moved in and we can afford to replace this.

Not that Mr Self-Assured really needed any more confidence, but I guess he earnt this.

Stacey managed to promptly break the fucking stove again during her second attempt at cooking eggs, but luckily Mr Goddamn Hero is able to fix it just before he runs off to work.

After he left I noticed that Stacey had this moodlet?! I mean, uhm, sorry Stace, but YOU BROKE THE STOVE TWICE THIS MORNING DURING YOUR ATTEMPTS AT COOKING. CONFIDENT IS NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD BE FEELING!

Amira Shea came over, and Stacey now has a fourth friend! Finally she can get her promotion!

Yay Melvin!

And even though that jerk Liberty Lee unfriended her so she now only has three friends again, Stacey’s been promoted too, woohoo!

The next day at work, Melvin turned in a co-worker for doing sloppy work and this happened.

Apparently Stacey has no fucking clue what Melvin’s job is. (Melvin was similarly oblivious as to Stacey’s line of work.) HOW IN THE HELL

As a Fortune Sim, Melvin constantly has wants to buy random stuff. I bought a coffee machine, and Stacey LOVES it. It doesn’t actually seem to give her any more energy though >:S

Uhm, what’s the point of a 1x1 pool? And on top of that, given the small lot size here, I don’t think this is going to happen

They try for a baby to celebrate.

Stacey shares her big news with Liberty Lee. (Who, by the way, is now Stacey’s “Good Friend” and not even just a normal friend. idgi but whatever)

Stacey travels to the park with her other friends.

She tells them about her pregnancy too, and everyone was so excited!

Then this other woman, whose name is also Stacey, joins them at the table. We learnt pretty fast that one of her traits is “Insane”. ok then.

Only when she gets home again does Stacey allow herself to admit that she has some worries about having this baby.

After this point my savefiles got corrupted and I lost some of the progress I’d made, so some of what follows didn’t “actually” happen in my game. Some of it did, though, because when I replayed that time I repeated some of my same choices. So, yeah. I’ll try to be clear.

Melvin’s mind is on money. He wants all of it in the world probably

This interaction was “joke about chicken butts”. That doesn’t look like a chicken to me, Stace.

Melvin was pretty happy when Stacey finally shared the big news with him though!

The baby’s growing…

Fast-forward to 1:40am that night… fuck no Liberty, it’s 1:40 in the fucking morning

(When I replayed Liberty Lee did not pull this stupid shit again, thankfully.)

As daylight breaks, Stacey and Melvin wake up to discover that they suddenly own a staircase.

In fact, their house has doubled in size overnight.

Yes, I had to rebuild this whole extension again.

Melvin goes to work while Stacey plays with a toy robot.

We’re on the home stretch now (final trimester) and Stacey’s looking huge!

lol sure, ok.

(When I replayed I did actually let her have these pancakes again.)

A bit of an effort to soothe her aching back before she gets stuck in. Hang in there Stacey, you’re near the end of the tunnel!

Melvin’s been practising programming for work and he rolled this whim. Oh Melvin, you devilish rogue, you.

(When I replayed, he did indeed cut out the unsafe shit. In fact, he didn’t even have work on Saturday so I don’t know why he did the first time I played?)

omg omg! Generation two is on its way!

For this generation, I chose a naming theme based on a TV show my partner and I have really got into over the last few months: House of Cards. So, meet the Coopers’ baby boy: Frank!

lol jk! This savefile got corrupted so Frank ceased to exist.

Alright. Returning now to the main timeline…

Melvin seems a bit confused by the sudden jump in spacetime. He decided to “admire his new possession”… this desk… which Stacey has owned since before he moved in. wtf

They had a great chat over breakfast… not sure about what because my “show UI in screenshots” setting seems to have come undone during my troubles >.<

She has morning sickness this time :(

At least, after all the struggles I had with my CC folder, this showertub actually works as a bath now as well as a shower.

In this timeline, instead of Liberty Lee making obnoxious phone calls at 1:40am, we have Broderick dropping by in person at about 9pm.

I had Stacey say “Goodbye” to him before she joined Melvin in bed, but he did this instead of going home.

THEN HE BROKE THE COMPUTER. AND ONLY THEN DID HE GO HOME. smh

In this timeline I let them get married before the babies are born!

Their friends all come over to congratulate them having not felt bothered to watch the wedding itself. Stacey seems not to trust Tabitha with pancakes.

The next morning, Stacey runs to the fishing spot behind their house to talk to some complete random named Angela. idgi.

Stacey goes into labour!!

Melvin is more concerned with his computer program.

Stacey: Honey, the FIRST baby is here, and I think there’s another one coming!!

Melvin: Yeah yeah, in a minute.

This time, the happy couple have twin girls. We’re still going with a House of Cards naming theme, so this one is Claire…

And materialising directly into the bedroom we have Christina.
